KLM’s Accountant Staffing Team Volunteers at Souls Harbour Rescue Mission
The Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization, provides food, clothing, and a loving environment to those who need it. It is fully funded by private donors, churches, and volunteers, with no government assistance. Our accountant staffing and bookkeeping employees joined other volunteers this past weekend to lend a helping hand to this wonderful organization.
Greg Martell, Souls Harbour’s Thankfulness Officer, welcomed us with open arms and immediately put us to work. Some prepared the food, set the table and served the lunch, while others organized the clothes donated by the generous community. One of KLM Financials’ bookkeeper and payroll specialist, Stella Tang, said it best, “This group volunteer event is a great chance to know our team members more out of our daily works. It is a great time to strengthen the bond between us. It also showed me there are still many poor, hungry and homeless people here who need help and a hot meal”.
Greg was constantly on the move directing the volunteers, organizing the activities and attending to the guests, ensuring everything was running smoothly. When asked what motivates him to do this he said, ” The need of the people and the community. People need others to care about them. You’re doing something that you really love and they come to know who you are. The people motivate me, both the volunteers and those coming to have a bowl of soup”.
This was a rewarding experience. The team had the chance to bond while giving back to our community. Thank you to KLM Financial’s accountant staffing and bookkeeping team members who attended and Victor Nwaigwe, for organizing it. Special thanks to Souls Harbour for doing so much for our community and letting us be a part of it.
